Susanne Urban works
in both watercolor and mixed media. She uses watercolor techniques
such as transparency, negative painting, glazing, and lost edges
to give her paintings a sense of atmosphere and mystery. When
working in the acrylic collage medium, she uses design elements
and color to evoke the feeling of the subject. Nature and its
patterns, flowers, gardens, and travel are some of the things
that inspire her. Susanne has studied with local and internationally
known artists, learning from each of them and incorporating
new techniques into her style. She hopes that the viewer will
continue to make new discoveries in her artwork and continue
to be intrigued by it.
Her works are available at the gallery as original artwork,
as well as on cards and t-shirts. Susanne also makes beaded
jewelry, finding interesting beads in her travels, and working
with their color and texture to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
